Arc Health’s Partnership with Pinnacle Emergency Medical Group

Arc Health is delighted to announce our merger with Pinnacle Emergency Medical Group (PEMG). Through this strategic combination, we will expand the reach of compassionate and high-quality medical care to Native American and other rural, underserved communities.

Dave Shaffer, Arc Health CEO and Co-founder states, Arc Health is excited to come together with Pinnacle Emergency Medical Group. Both of our organizations clearly have mission alignment to improve the health care services provided to our most vulnerable community members. With Arc Health and Pinnacle working together, we offer rural, underserved communities a comprehensive solution – one that can really make a difference.”

Established by a group of dedicated emergency medicine physicians, PEMG was founded to make excellent emergency room care a reality for Native American communities. PEMG has diligently worked to close the gap in Native American emergency care with integrity, teamwork, commitment, and respect. As of December 2020, PEMG staffs five Indian Health Service (IHS) hospitals. Now, in strategic combination with Arc Health, PEMG’s work will continue to improve the lives of underserved Native American communities while upholding aligned values of respect, compassion, and dedication.

Ken Bernard, Co-Founder of Pinnacle Emergency Medical Group, comments, Pinnacle has been proud of our progress towards the mission of providing excellent emergency care where it is needed most. We were fortunate and excited to find our complement in Arc Health with the expertise in hospitalist and ambulatory care. Arc Health’s model, built on the principles of social justice and health equity and supported by talented leaders, shares a vision where clinical excellence is the standard rather than the exception in underserved and lower resourced medical communities. Our partnership will allow us to continue both our missions while expanding the level of high-quality service lines and value we deliver to our hospital partners and the communities they serve.”

Shaffer will lead the combined entity into the new year with the commitment to continue Arc Health’s ongoing mission of achieving health equity. Through this alliance and in our everyday work, we will continue partnering with highly-qualified and compassionate caregivers – now inclusive of talented emergency medicine providers– to deliver care to rural, underserved communities.
